Reflection What i learnt personally I've learned that you only have to believe in your goal and keep on doing no matter how hopeless the situation seems. Somehow you find a treasure and life suddenly makes sense again and you are happy to have finally reached your goal after all these efforts. I have also taken from the book that it is important to have friends who do not betray you. But even more important were the character traits that Stanley had. He never betrayed his friends and always took the blame. That is something you can take with you for your own life. I've also learned that you have to keep your promises. Otherwise it can happen that you are cursed for eternal bad luck. The most important statement of the book I found however that bad things follow bad deeds. Kate barlow kissed the onion picker, followed by eternal dryness. Stanley allegedly stole the shoes, followed by the stay in camp green lake. It all comes back in a way. Karma. 168 Words in Total

Empathy Part 2 Diary entry Stanley Yelnats Dear diary, a lot of bad things have happened today. But there were also nice moments. The day started very well. Magnet stole the sunflower seeds from Mr.Sir. Everyone was happy about it and we threw the bag to each other. When the bag was thrown to me, it opened in flight and all the seeds were buried in my hole. I suspected evil. Mr.Sir caught me, I took the blame on myself and had to go to the warden. Luckily she didn't believe me and accused another boy. So I was allowed to leave again. When I returned, I noticed that my hole was already finished. "Who was that?", I asked myself. It was Zero. He did it so that I would teach him how to write and read, what I did. I have to say that the day was actually quite ok. There were much worse days like the first ones. 153 Words in Total

Characterization Part 2 Dear Mr.Sachar I am just reading your book and I am stunned. When I started reading I wasn't that impressed. It was quite boring and nothing happened, but i kept reading because we had to read it for a school project. As I kept reading, the story and the characters got more exciting with the time. The book is written very simply so I had no difficulty understanding it. I was able to put myself into the story and felt like I was part of it. At some parts of the story it got a little bit boring i have to say, but thats not bad at all because i was looking forward to the end of the story and i wanted to know what they gonna find so badly. Please see this letter as a praise for your work. You really did a great job there. Keep up the good work. Greetings Marc Aerne 155 Words in Total

Analysis Part 2 Style of the Autor's writing Louis Sachar has a good balance between dialogues and the narrative style of writing. He mostly uses complete sentences. He works with flashbacks to give the story more depth. In this way you get to know the characters in a different way than when they are simply described. However, he doesn't attach great importance to detailed character descriptions. He doesn't put much effort into it. But that's not bad since the story is the more important aspect of the book. To sum it up i have to say it is written in a low level of english grammar. It is easy to understand the story without having issues. Repetition or patterns I have noticed He repeats very often that there are these yellow-spotted lizards whose bites usually end in dead. As i said, the flashbacks repeat themselves quiet a bit. And of course the whole scenery is like every day the same. The boys go on the field and dig holes and something happens. It could be ...

Analysis Words that I'm unsure of their meaning: Whom: Maybe it means who? Definition: Used as the object of a verb or preposition, but in everyday speech sometimes replaced by who. What person(s)(?) Outlaw: I think its something like a thief in the wild west. Maybe you call a person outlaw which doesn´t have a home and has to steal things and to illegal stuff. Definition: A criminal, especially one who is punished by being refused the protection of the law. Vile: From the context, I'd say it's toxic or dirty, something like this. Definition : horrible; wicked; disgusting Blotchy: Maybe it means that the face of Kate Barlow is dirty. Definition: If someone's skin is blotchy, it is covered in marks, usually temporary ones, that are not regular in shape. Mositure: From the context, I'd say it's sweat. Definition: A liquid such as water in the form of very small drops, either in the air, in a substance, or on a surface.  154 Words in Total...

Empathy Which character do you identify most with? The most I can identify with is stanley. I also often have the feeling that I am always unlucky. I also recognize common traits between stanley and myself. He is a little more cautious and reserved when dealing with people he meets new. Nevertheless, he is very social and also helps those who need help such as Zero. He teaches him to read and write. In return, Zero helps Stanley digging his hole. This is a very smart move of Stanley. I can understand his actions totally. I've already thought about many points in the book, in this situation I would have acted exactly the same as stanley did. In what ways do u wish a character will change? I hope stanley will become more confident and lead the group. He will probably become more muscular and manly. So he can show his parents how he has improved and finally beat up Derrick Dune by himself and everybody gets respect for him. 152 Words in Total

Recount Chapter 1 to 23 The protagnist stanley yelnats was threatened with prison for stealing the sneakers of a famous athlete. But the truth is, he didn't steal them, they fell on his head under a highway underpass. Stanley has always had great misfortune. There has been a curse on his family for ages. He could choose the camp green lake instead of the prison.  His parents think it's a normal camp where he can improve and have fun. They have no idea what's really going on at camp green lake. Stanley and the other boys have to dig a big hole every day, 5 feet deep and 5 feet wide. There are a lot of rides when digging. They get very little to drink in the burning heat. As the story progresses, it becomes increasingly clear that they are not digging the holes to strengthen their character, but to find something that is still unclear. 151 Words in Total
